After the challenging past week...
Sunday, June 1, 2008 5:00 PM After the challenging past week, here comes another. I'll be having a bio'sci test this fri; topics covered are from cells to respiratory system, which is a lot. But thank God, Dr, Yong had foresight; he knew we wouldn't budge & study if he didn't set mock tests to stimulate us. The previous 2 bio'sci mock tests did help us a lot; at least I don't have to study like mad now. It's comforting to knw that, really. Any idea why I said the past week has been challenging? Well, settled quite a lot of things the past week. Managed to clear off Family & Community Health & Critical Thinking proj presentation, Nursing Lab Practical test and Bio'sci mock test. My grp secured a B for FCH proj; which was a relief because we really worked on it & finalised everything the prev weeekend before we presented. And Raj from Grp 2 withdrew fr the course, paying $12,000. It's demoralizing to hear tt every now & then, when someone really couldn't take the stress and decide to pay the huge amt of money to get out fr this course forever. I'm going to keep moving on moving on moving on, towards my dream of saying the nurses's pledge on my graduation day. Right, Missy Yumi and Missy Doreen? Our dream! We must keep moving on, and work hard okie?? The most interesting highlight of the past week was probably my visit to the Anatomy Lab during my bio'sci practical session. Dr. Yong prepared sections of a body for us to view; for our learning purposes. The bodies were those of old folks who had no families; and therefore was unclaimed & donated for research purposes. No jokes, no laughing and no teasing was allowed in the lab. It was dissected in 1993/94 and preserved until now, not too sure what they used to preserve tho. But I was standing right next to the dissected body beside the trolley, so near I can smell & see every organ in such a perfect view. That's the 'interesting' part of being a nurse; u get to see all the things people doesn't get to see. The other interesting highlight I've to mention is... D and I finally placed bookings for our trip to Macau/Hongkong during my holiday period in Oct!! We'll be travelling on Tiger Airways..and will be outta Singapore fr 3rd Oct to 7th Oct 08! It's still so far away; but hey, it's making me a very excited and happy girl already! Yahooo! I'm gg to shop till I drop; and most prob eat until I grow fat too. >_<
