mom'll be getting baptised! =D [updated]
Saturday, July 19, 2008 2:30 PM

Today is truly a day worth rejoicing as my mom will be getting baptised! I’ll be dropping by her church to witness her baptism along with Denver as well as Pastor Raymond. Yeah, you might be feeling weird as to why Pastor Raymond will be going right? Anyway, he’s one of the firsts who visited my mom during her hospitalization stay in SGH, also the one who shared the message of hope & salvation with her. Yea, thank u pastor Raymond! A ‘thank you’ would never be enough, isn’t it?

Back then, he wasn’t a pastor. The moment he heard of my mom’s hospitalization news, he came to me and asked for the hospital which she was staying at; ward & bed number. He was the one who visited my mom continually during her long stay in hospital, the one who helped her to know God through sharing of the message of hope & salvation with her. 1 of his relative who was working as an operating theatre nurse in the same hospital also came & talked & prayed for my mom whenever she knocked off from her shift-work. I also remembered that Patricia (Grace’s friend) who was hospitalized in the same hospital at the same time, also frequently came to my mom’s ward & sat by her bed and chatted with her. In an unfamiliar hospital environment, it is all these people who helped to bring comfort to my mom’s, before her major operation.

My mom’s current church’s pastors and church-friends also went to visit her back then, praying for her. A simple touch of the hand could allay so much anxiety. After the operation, because of her chemo & radiotherapy, she had to rest at home most of the time and couldn’t do housework & stuffs. Her church’s sisters helped my family a great deal, by buying this and that for us; and thereafter, helping to buy groceries with free delivery to my place every week. This lasted for about a year plus until my mom got better. They made me understand what it meant by “serving others in Christ” without expecting anything in return. Their pure love touches me as well as my family’s.

It is truly by God’s grace, that my mom is saved. Today, she has made the big decision to be baptised, proclaiming her faith outwardly in Jesus Christ, the sovereign God who came as Man to die for us on the cross, bearing all our sins and shame. This is the God, I worship & adore. This is the God I serve. This is the God who is ALIVE today.
