09 resolutions
Thursday, January 1, 2009 9:48 PM

i only have a few mins to type down my resolution for 2009 before my laptop battery runs flat. 2009 is here in a flash, wow! anyway, i do certainly hope that admist of the recession that's clouding over the world, we will perservere and have new hope in Christ. i find this especially meaningful adapted from UCB "daily bread" website:

Recognising that life is not one long race, but many short ones in succession. Each task has its own challenges and each day its own events. You have to get out of bed the next morning and run again, but it's never exactly the same race.

To be successful you must keep plugging away. It's said that Columbus faced incredible difficulties while sailing west in search of a passage to Asia. He encountered storms, experienced hunger, deprivation and extreme discouragement. The crews of his three ships were near mutiny. But his account of the journey says the same thing over and over: "Today, we sailed on."

And his perseverance paid off. He didn't discover a fast route to the spice-rich Indies; instead he found new continents. The Scriptural key to success is - running the race each day (See Heb 12:1-2). So, this year - persevere.

i find that yr 08 has been quite a not bad year for me; except that i'm quite worrisome in alot of things. and i find that life definately is very miserable when all these worries begin to drag me down and make me weary. the best thing that happened has got to be getting together with dee.. also has been struggling very hard with studies in yr 08..

for 09, i hope that

1. i'll be a better person with a better temper
2. closer and more intimate r/s with Christ
3. attend cells (wdt) faithfully whenever i'm able to make it
4. put in more effort in studies
5. treat my parents better
6. be more disciplinced in money matters; watch for spending on clothes
7. meet up more with my friends/cousins, esp jean who's leaving 1st feb.
8. contribute more to family (if i'm able to)
9. not to worry abt things; strive to be happy every single day

that's about it. simple resolutions; a way to start 09 with an aim.
