Friday, August 22, 2008 5:00 PM you'd probably seen the worst. a junior staff nurse showing you faces even though she only passed out a few mths ago. patients who had major operations with gapping wounds. sad life cases of patients who were being admitted into your ward. bad attitude of some nurses/assist nurses, pts are good so far. (i swear to be humble when im a SN in future) you'd probably also felt encouraged. patients singing praises to your clinical instructor, with a big smile on their face. endless verbal thank you's from patients. happy that you played a part in helping the patient feel comfortable. seen a sad case this morning. this female patient who was admitted for fits had depression, probably due to her abortion which happened recently. and her bf also jumped down. for reason, we do not know. it's sad. because of her fits, she stopped work as a sales asst. and there she is, lying on the bed; in a very confused and disoriented state of mind. and yet, there's nth we can do much to help. over at my side, i heard that a few ITE stud nurses had quit the course. i wonder if anyone from my course will quit. my dear partner also had this vague idea of quitting. i kept encouraging her to move on; at the same time, also reminded her of the bond amt which she had to pay. she's bonded to NUH, good luck. over this period, seen quite a few pts being transferred to st'luke.. i bet i'll b busy like crazy over there in st luke. but all in all, im still thankful for a nice boyfriend, my pillar of strength. thank you for driving me to work..much appreciated, even tho u've to wake up early like crazy. but yeah, i love you. v much. roller-coaster of emotions. hang on, cl.
